Portable Space Ltd have stepped in to help the charity Families In Need (FIND) with vital storage space for their food bank.
The charity was founded in 1990 to provide emergency assistance to families or individuals affected by poverty or dispossession. They provide free of charge food, household items, furniture, nursery equipment and nappies, beds and bedding and where available cookers, washing machines and refrigerators.
Having sent out over 1,500 emergency food parcels since January, FIND Director Maureen Reynel MBE phoned Portable Space to see if they could help with storing the food they are to be sending out to impoverished and homeless families this Christmas. Mark Black, MD of Portable Space was only too happy to supply a 20ft shipping container free of charge for the charity to use until January.
“It’s nice to give something back to the community,” said Mr Black, “especially at this time of year and with the current economic climate”
