Containers for Export

Whilst the majority of our customers buy containers for UK-based storage of every imaginable type, the containers we sell are still an ISO plated shipping container designed to carry products and goods around the world. Each year we also sell many containers for export and onward shipping, so if you need to ship goods and products overseas we can provide you with the container and necessary documentation ready for you to load and arrange your own shipping.

One trip shipping containers are built for us in Chinese factories, used once and then delivered to our yard. They are available from stock in 20ft and 40ft lengths of standard height, high cube and specials (tunnel containers with doors at both ends and side opening containers). ‘One trip’ containers are usually plated for shipping for five years from the date of manufacture so typically our stocks will be plated for at least four years from purchase. ‘One trip’ containers would typically have an expected shipping life of 10-15 years when employed for normal shipping uses.

Used CSC plated containers have already been used for shipping purposes, remain in good wind and watertight condition and are structurally sound enough to be issued with a CSC plate. Cheaper than a ‘one trip’ container, these can vary in age from 5-10 years with the price is affected by age and condition.

‘Last way’ shipping containers are popular for use when products are delivered a long way from regular container routes, for example for disaster relief, aid agencies, oil and gas exploration and military purposes in remoter parts of the world. In these situations, it is often not cost-effective to get the container back to the global network and the container is left, resold or used for another purpose once it eventually arrives at the final destination. The ‘last way’ shipper is ideal for this as the imminent end of the plating certificate means these containers are the cheapest available.

When containers are purchased in the UK and shipped outside the EU, with the correct export papers, it is possible that we can refund the VAT.
