Portable Space Hosts Charity Golf Day for St Elizabeth Hospice

Last Friday, we hosted our first ever Portable Space Charity Golf Day at Hintlesham Golf Club, bringing together suppliers, customers and partners of the business to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice.

With sunshine throughout the day, teams took to the course for 18 holes of friendly competition, while the refreshment buggies kept drinks flowing around the course. For a first event, it was great to see so many people get involved and support the day.

Before dinner, guests gathered to watch Kevin Carpenter’s trick shot show, which included some impressive shots and a few volunteers from the crowd, proving that golf looks a lot easier when you’re a professional.

The focus then turned to the cause behind the event, as Sarah from St Elizabeth Hospice spoke about the charity’s work and the vital support it provides to local people and their families. Her talk was a reminder of exactly why events like this matter and the difference fundraising can make.

The evening continued with dinner, prize giving and the charity raffle. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and prize donors, there was an excellent selection of prizes on offer, including an £850 electric golf trolley that proved particularly popular.

Congratulations to Gaia, who made themselves part of Portable Space history by becoming the first ever winners of the Portable Space Charity Golf Day.

Together, we raised £13,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice and its vital work across the local community.

As our inaugural golf day, we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but the support we received exceeded all expectations. We’d like to thank everyone who entered a team, sponsored the event, donated raffle prizes and helped behind the scenes to make the day possible.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who helped support St Elizabeth Hospice. We’re proud to have launched what is set to become a regular fixture in the Portable Space calendar, and we’re already looking forward to next year.
