Charity card retailer uses portable steel cabin for Christmas pop-up shop

Sector
Café, Retail & Museums

Cards for Good Causes is the UK’s largest multi-charity card and gift retailer raising more than £40 million in the last 10 years alone, helping partner charities improve the life of thousands of people.

Every year the organisation opens pop-up shops across the UK in time for the festive season.  The goal for Christmas 2022 was to raise £500,000 for over 70 UK national and local charities, including Diabetes UK, the British Heart Foundation and Alzheimer’s Society.

The pop-up shops are usually set up in venues such as churches, libraries, and community centres. However, in some areas, the ideal location can be difficult to find, and this led to Cards for Good Causes approaching Portable Space for help.

With the organisation keen to maintain an annual Christmas pop-up shop in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, but unable to find a suitable commercial unit, we arranged for the temporary installation of a portable steel cabin in a local car park. The secure unit provides a bright, spacious and warm environment able to deal with the high festive footfall.

Cards for Good Causes Head of Retail, Cherry Whiteside, said:

“Portable space has allowed us to trade in a town where we were unable to source a commercial unit. We were at risk of having no profile in Beaconsfield at all in 2022 which would be a shame as historically, the town has raised over £600,000 in the past 10 years for Cards for Good Causes. Many customers have commented what a fabulous idea it was to use a portable steel unit for our shop this year.”

You can buy charity cards and gifts for birthdays and other occasions from the Cards for Good Causes website all year round.
