Converted container used in cycle event
Case Study: Upper Street Events

Container creates cycle circuit at annual showcase

Sector
Clubs, Events & Hospitality

Shipping containers can be converted for many different uses – including forming a tunnel at the UK’s biggest annual cycling event at the NEC in Birmingham.

The Cycle Show features over 300 exhibitors, more than 500 brands and the very latest bikes and accessories, all under one roof for three days.

Working with Upper Street Events, Portable Space supplied a 20ft tunnel container with doors at both ends which was incorporated into the arena as a circuit for people to use.

Sam Curtis at Portable Space said: “Our shipping container played a key role in The Cycle Show’s circuit. The organisers covered it to form a tunnel and also built a ramp for the cyclists.

“We had to pull out all the stops on this project as they needed fast delivery so that the transformation could be completed before the Show started and the public was allowed in.”
